Zhongxin Jingwei, May 19 (Xinhua) According to an announcement on the website of the Ministry of Commerce on the 19th, an anti-dumping investigation was initiated against imported polyformaldehyde originating in the European Union, the United States, Taiwan and Japan.

The announcement shows that on April 22, the Ministry of Commerce received an anti-dumping investigation application officially submitted by Yunnan Yuntianhua Co., Ltd., State Energy Group Ningxia Coal Industry Co., Ltd., Kaifeng Longyu Chemical Co., Ltd., Yankuang Lunan Chemical Co., Ltd., Tangshan Zhonghao Chemical Co., Ltd., PetroChina Inner Mongolia New Materials Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as the applicant) on behalf of the polyacetal copolymer industry in the mainland of China. The applicant requested investigation into the application originating in the European Union, the United States, Anti-dumping investigations were conducted on imports of copolymerized polyformaldehyde from Taiwan and Japan.

According to the evidence provided by the applicant and the preliminary review by the Ministry of Commerce, the applicant's production of polyformaldehyde will account for more than 50% of the total production of similar products in the mainland of China in 2021, 2022 and 2023, which is in compliance with the provisions of Articles 11 and 13 of the Anti-Dumping Regulations of the People's Republic of China on applications for anti-dumping investigations by industries in Chinese mainland. At the same time, the application contains the content and relevant evidence required for filing an anti-dumping investigation as stipulated in Articles 14 and 15 of the Anti-Dumping Regulations of the People's Republic of China.

Based on the above review results and in accordance with the provisions of Article 16 of the Anti-Dumping Regulations of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Commerce decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imported polyacetal originating in the European Union, the United States, Taiwan and Japan starting from May 19.

The announcement shows that the dumping investigation period determined in this investigation is from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023, and the industrial damage investigation period is from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023.

The announcement also introduced that copolymerized polyoxymethylene has good comprehensive mechanical properties such as high mechanical strength, high fatigue resistance, and high creep resistance. It can partially replace metal materials such as copper, zinc, tin, and lead. It can be directly used or modified. After being used in automotive parts, electronic appliances, industrial machinery, daily necessities, sports equipment, medical equipment, piping fittings, building materials and other fields.
